South Woodstock

SOUTH WOODSTOCK — March 8 - Good Friday morning to y’all, it’s a great sunny day here with temps up to 38 degrees and climbing. A beautiful spring morning for sure.

Condolences are going out to the following families on the loss of their loved ones, Barbara Jean Paradis, Myra Crosby, Margaret Mason and Leslie H. Scribner. Thoughts and prayers to each family.

Many of our Down East Country Music Association musicians and performers are leaving tomorrow for their long trip to Pigeon Forge, TN for a week's competition. We are wishing each of them good luck in their competitions and hope they come home with a nice trophy.

And hoping they have some great weather to enjoy while they are there. Safe travel mercies for those who will be traveling by chartered bus and for all who will be driving down in their own cars.

Roads are posted all over the county, that’s another sign of spring. I have decided to plant some crocus and a forsythia bush this spring. And anxiously awaiting buds to start forming on the trees and my bleeding hearts and rose bushes.

I have started my spring cleaning - lots of items being donated to the Goodwill and saving many items for my garage sale.

Three more weeks of country jam sessions at the Eagles in Rumford on Friday nights, then off for the spring and summer months. Great music, good friends and dancing every Friday night from October to March. Thanks Bub, for keeping these jams going for those of us who like to have something to do throughout the fall and winter months.

Oh my, just looked out and see that the wind has started blowing real hard.

The band enjoyed our time entertaining for the residents in Auburn on Wednesday. Stopped by to visit with George and Brenda DeWitt on our way but they were off enjoying the day.

That’s all from the valley this week. Stay well and enjoy each day.
