Fire in Mechanic Falls

FLAMES RISE - Fire in a garage attached to a home brought firefighters from Mechanic Falls, Poland, Auburn and Oxford to 37 Mitchell Street, Mechanic Falls, on December 29. The fire started in the garage, then spread into an unfinished part of  the house through a second floor window. Deputy Fire Chief Matt Fifield said the cause was undetermined, but not suspicious. The house was livable that night and there were no injuries.
