Oxford County Democrats to meet

BETHEL - The Oxford County Democrats will meet on Sunday, December 5 at 12:30 p.m. at the Crescent Park School in Bethel for a potluck lunch and a business meeting. Greg Olson, campaign manager for Congressman Mike Michaud, will be the featured speaker. Rep. Terry Hayes of Buckfield, newly elected  Assistant Leader for the House Democrats, will provide an update from the Statehouse as will incumbents Rep. Matt Peterson of Rumford, Rep. Sheryl Briggs of Mexico, Rep. Helen Rankin of Hiram, and Senator John Patrick of Rumford. County officials Sheriff Wayne Gallant of Rumford, Treasurer Roy Gedat of Norway, Register of Probate Bruce Rood of Waterford, and newly-elected Register of Deeds Patricia Shearman of Norway have been invited as well.

County Democratic chair Cathy Newell of Greenwood is preparing the agenda for the business meeting including a County Committee Treasurer's Report from Roy Gedat and the filling of any vacant slots for Democratic State Committee. A date will be set for the January meeting to include the election of officers for 2011-2012.
