Fire in Harrison destroys family's home

DESTROYED — A fire in Harrison destroyed a home on Cape Monday Road last Friday. The fire was called in at 3 pm by a 13-year-old of the family who got off her school bus and discovered her home on fire. Six town fire companies responded to the alarm. Once they arrived, there was little the departments could do to stem the blaze and the house was completely gutted and has been classified as a total loss. A family of six, two parents and four children, called the building home. Members of the local community have already offered to help provide temporary housing for the family.
