Oxford man killed in Portland crash

PORTLAND — An Oxford man was killed Tuesday when he collided with a truck in Portland.

Douglas Starbird, 52, of Aspen Street, Oxford, was killed when his 2008 Victory motorcycle and an International box truck crashed on Skyway Drive, near Congress Street, in Portland, close to the turnpike exit for the Portland Jetport.

Police noted that Starbird was not wearing a helmet, and that both vehicles were heading in the same directioobn. It remained under investigation, Wednesday morning.
