Unlocked cars targeted by thieves

PARIS — Small burglaries were reported by seven Paris residents in one night last week. In each case, unlocked vehicles were targeted by the thieves.

According to Lieutenant Dailey of the Paris Police Department, the string of burglaries occurred between 11 p.m. on the night of Tuesday, March 8 and 6 a.m. on Wednesday, March 9. The vehicles that were burglarized were located between Route 117 in Buckfield and Paris Hill Road.

Dailey said that only small amounts of money were taken from each car and that all cars were entered through unlocked doors without any damage.

One witness has come forward so far, describing two males in a pickup truck. Distance prevented the witness from identifying any particulars about the suspects or their vehicle.

The burglaries are currently under investigation by the Paris PD, which is asking anyone who saw anything suspicious related to the incidents to contact it at 743-6600.
