Students address literacy

PARIS — Smanatha Braun, Sarah Smith and Kristina Grenier are concerned about literacy. So much so, that they decided to do their senior project on the issue.

They are assisting the Paris library in writing a grant application for a Maine Reads Grant which will allow them to begin a program in the community to help address literacy needs.

On Monday, March 21, they will be holding a forum at the Paris library for the community to share its concerns about literacy problems. The event begins at 3:30 and ends at 5 p.m.

They are hoping the community will attend and share thoughts and ideas about how to solve illiteracy in the community.

Snacks and beverages will be provided.
