OTISFIELD CRASH — Rescue crews survey the wreckage of an accident that left a Norway man seriously injured last Friday.

OTISFIELD — A Norway man was seriously injured in a two-car crash at the corner of Route 117 and Plains Road in Otisfield Friday.

State Police say that Trask, who was driving a Chevrolet Metro, was hit while attempting to make a left turn off of Route 117. David Freitas of Oxford was coming the other way in a Nissan Altima and collided with the Trask's passenger side door, forcing his car into a guardrail.

Trask and Freitas' wife, Karen, were both transported to Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway.  Trask was then transported to Maine Medical Center where he has been listed in serious condition. Karen was released with only minor injuries.

Causes of the accident are still being investigated, but according to State Police Trooper Adam Fillebrown, it appears that Trask simply did not see Freitas' car coming from the other direction.
