Oxford Sprints February 2

NORWAY — If this winter is any indication, adapting to climate weirdness will demand patience, creativity, and most of all flexibility. Due to current snow conditions and weather prediction for the week ahead, the annual Oxford Hills Sprint races will shift its venue for this year and will be held at Roberts Farm Preserve in Norway on Saturday, February 2 at 10 a.m.

The air-rifle biathlon scheduled for Saturday at the Preserve will be shifted to Sunday. Registration will open on site at 9 a.m. and the races will start at 10 a.m. This year’s event is co-sponsored with the Conservation School at Bryant Pond which is providing air rifles for the competition. Skiers 14 and under will ski three 1k loops, shooting targets and required penalty laps between. Skiers 14 and older will ski three 2k loops.

Due to both races, the trails will be closed to the public starting Friday, February 1 at noon through noon Sunday, February 3. Instead the public is encouraged to come and cheer on the Viking Nordic team and to participate in the Biathlon. Ski, poles, and boots are available for the SAD 17 community.
