Turkey Day 5K set in Harrison

HARRISON — Get your walking/running shoes on and join your family and friends for the first annual Turkey Day 5K, on Thanksgiving morning beginning at 8 a.m.

Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. the day of the race, and preregistration forms may be found at the Harrison and Bridgton Town Halls and Libraries, the Village Tie Up, Main Street Graphics, and Main Street Variety, or by contacting Barb Stauble at 583-4445.

A $20 registration fee will be collected and donated to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital which provides care to critically ill children regardless of their ability to pay. The race will start at the Harrison Post Office and end at the Greenwood Manor Inn on Tolman Road with prizes and goodies awarded to the top finishers in seven age categories.

The coordinators of the race would like to thank the following area businesses for their donations of prizes, money, and efforts: The Greenwood Manor Inn, The Village Tie Up, Crystal Lake Spa, Olde Mill Tavern, The Market Basket, St. Joseph’s Ladies Guild, and the Knights of Columbus.
