Harrison youth b'ball signups set

HARRISON — Signups for Harrison Hoops, the youth basketball program for Harrison boys and girls in grades one through six, will be held Thursday, October 25 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the Harrison school gym.

Grades three through six are part of the Oxford Hills Athletic Booster Program. Fee is $35/child or $50 for family with more than two children. Make checks payable to Oxford Hills Athletic Boosters. They need volunteer coaches, assistants and referees.

Grades one and two are part of the Harrison Parks and Rec. “Little Dribblers” program. This is a six-week instructional program where each child will learn basketball FUNdamentals through fun drills and skill stations.

The fee is $15 and includes a t-shirt and junior size basketball. A coach is needed. Paula has everything the volunteer coach would need. Please make checks payable to Town of Harrison.

Paula will be conducting an NYSCA (National Youth Sports Coaches Association) basketball clinic for volunteers interested in coaching youth basketball who do not hold a current NYSCA certification.

Date will be determined. A certified NYSCA coach receives $1,000,000 excess liability coverage, four subscriptions to the NYSCA Sporting Kids, membership card, and your name placed on the National Honor Roll as well as the one at the Harrison Town Office.
