Teams get ready to start the third quarter.

PARIS — It was cold on Friday night, but there were still a lot of people at the football game. The bleachers were almost full, and everyone was talking about how the Vikings were probably going to lose. The Messalonskee Eagles, the opponent, are doing well this year. Even though hopes were not high, the fans still cheered with the same spirit and encouragement as always.

The first quarter was pretty uneventful, and the Vikings held their own.

At the start of the second quarter the Eagles scored a touchdown on their first play to put a seven on the board. With about seven and a half minutes left in the second quarter, the Eagles scored another touchdown after recovering a Vikings' fumble. The fans tried to cheer up the Vikings after that fumble, but the Eagles scored again at about three and a half minutes from the end of the second quarter for a 21-0 lead over the Vikings.

In the third quarter, the Eagles made a three-yard run for a touchdown. Then in the fourth, they went on to run two more touchdowns, making the score 41-0 to end the game.

This was the Vikings third loss this year. Viking fans went home disappointed about the loss, but excited about the big homecoming game on Saturday against Lewiston.
