Point Guard camp planned at CMCC
AUBURN — The 16th annual CM Point Guard Camp will be held Sunday, September 30 and Sunday, October 7. The camp is designed to educate and improve the skills of the point guard.
The camp will feature on court instruction presenting all aspects of the position. The players attending the camp will receive individual attention from the Central Maine coaching staff and players.
This camp was created to benefit any point guard looking to bring his/her game to the next level and learn the skills necessary to facilitate this process. The staff will challenge each individual to work hard and push himself/herself in this intense camp.
Players can expect to leave the camp with not only improved skills but a better understanding of the point guard’s role on the court.
Camp on September 30 is for middle school players; for girls, the time is 9 a.m. to 12 noon and for boys, 1 to 4 p.m. Camp for high school players is on October 7; the time for girls is 9 a.m. to 12 noon and for boys, 1 to 4 p.m. Pre-registration is $50.
The following will be covered: shooting off the dribble, protective dribble moves, aggressive ball handling, screen and roll and how to use, passing, footwork, fast break preparation, and the point guard mentality.
