Cobras win first home game 46-12
BUCKFIELD — The Notre Dame Cobras had an astonishing first game at their new home, the Buckfield Municipal Center Field on August 4, beating their opponents, the Bay State Bulldogs, from Haverhill MA 46-12.
Cobras quaterback Wade Edwards threw for more than 300 yards and five touchdowns, while rushing for 25 yards, including a sixth touchdown.
Wide receiver Luke Martin had 200 receiving yards and caught four of Edward's touchdown passes. The Cobra defense caused seven turnovers.
The Cobras, a semi-pro team in the News England Football League recently moved from Sanford. Following negotiations with the Buckfield board of selectmen in late July, the team will be calling Buckfield "home" for this season.
The Cobras next home game is Saturday, September 1st @ 4pm. Admission is $5 for Adults $3 for students and Seniors 55+ and kids 5 and under are free. The filed is located behind the Buckfield Municipal building on Route 117 in downtown Buckfield.
