Eastman named to McDonald's allstars

AUGUSTA — Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School's Abbie Eastman has been named to the Maine McDonald's allstar team.

The Maine Association of Basketball Coaches (MABC) selected 10 boys and 10 girls for the 2013 Maine McDonald's® High School Senior All-State Academic Team. They were nominated by their coaches and were chosen to represent the more than 148 high schools in the state of Maine.

Maine McDonald's High School Senior All-State Academic Team members are selected by a panel of leaders from Maine's high school basketball coaching community. To be eligible for the team, the Maine Association of Basketball Coaches (MABC) requires players to meet the following criteria:

• Achieve a grade point average of 90 or better for seven consecutive semesters.

• Be a member of their school's varsity basketball team for at least two complete seasons.

• Make a significant contribution to their team during the 2012-2013 season.

This year’s games will be played at Newman Gymnasium on the campus of Husson University in Bangor on Saturday, March 9. Additionally, the All-Star players, All-Star coaches, Regional Foul Shooting Champions, the Maine McDonald’s Spirit of the Game Award recipients, the MABC Contributor Award honoree and Mr. and Miss Basketball will be recognized at the awards banquet on Friday, March 8, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Husson University.

Game day tickets are good for all four Games and may be purchased at the door on Saturday, March 9. Tickets are $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for students and children.
