OHCHS scholars

SCHOLARS — Nineteen students from Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School received $100 Aspire Higher scholarships as a result of participating this past fall in activities to encourage postgraduate aspirations during Aspire Higher Month. Scholarship winners from 12th grade are Dave DiConzo, Abbie Eastman, Michaela Frechette, Anna Graham, Miranda Mack-Jackson, Brett Nobles and Morgan Wilson. Scholarship winners from 11th grade are Jordan Barrett, Matt Beauchesne, Emily Billings and Brandon Silver. Winning a scholarship this year from the 10th grade are Nick Buffington, Crystal Collins, Harley Crocker, Charley Hilligoss and Jamie Lavorgna. Ninth grade students winning a scholarship this year are Yvonne Deperte, Dimitri DeBiase and Jared Hall. Scholarship donors in attendance at the Aspire Higher assembly were Lynn Schott, representing the Rotary Club of Oxford Hills; Josh Little, representing OHCHS Key Club; Nancy Michaud, representing both the Mallard Mart and Nancy and Ed Michaud scholarships; Dick Danis, representing the Dick and Barbara Danis scholarship; Buffy Nason, representing the Dick and Buffy Nason scholarship and Jessica LeConte, representing Norway Savings Bank. Also in attendance were scholarship donors Brenda Melhus, representing the Ola and Brenda Melhus scholarship; John Williams, representing the Oxford Hills Chamber of Commerce scholarship; Catherine MacDonald, representing the MacDonald Trucking scholarship; Jeff Benson, representing the Jeff, Jody and Josh Benson scholarship in memory of Jamie; Lisa Whittemore, representing SAD #17 Cents for Kids scholarship and Jane Munn representing Friends of Education scholarship. Missing from the picture are scholarship donors Dan Allen of Allen & Co., Roy Gedat, Dennise Whitley and Barry Allen, Bob and Sandy Bahre, Kate and Glenn Wood of Western Maine Dentistry and Patricia and Bruce Cook.
