Aspirations Lab to hold raffle

PARIS — The OHCHS Aspirations Lab is keeping busy this month with two major initiatives to help students prepare for life after high school. Seniors should begin hearing back from colleges regarding their admissions decisions.

While awaiting admissions letters, it’s a good idea to complete your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The government allocates money for students who demonstrate financial need heading to college. Ms. Stephanie Littlehale, OHCHS Aspirations Lab Coordinator, recommends that all students have their FAFSA completed by February 15.

Those who complete their FAFSA by February 14, Valentines Day, will be entered into the raffle to win an iPad or one of the two iPod touches. Stephanie suggests that you print out the confirmation page and deliver it to her in the Lab.

In addition to the FAFSA drawing, Ms. Littlehale has set up an after school SAT course for juniors. All juniors will be registered to take the SAT on May 5 this year. Juniors wishing to apply to college in their senior year should consider taking this course. It will begin on February 13 and go through May 2.

Almost all colleges, regardless of their level of selectivity, place at least some emphasis on SAT scores. Interested juniors should sign up with Ms. Littlehale in the Aspirations Lab. This tutoring will be a great help to get ready for the SAT in May.
