Guy E. Rowe School
Rowe art on display
At our Superintendent’s office in Oxford, we currently have the artwork of eighteen of our students on display in the School Board meeting room. There are some wonderful examples of our student’s ability in art. Congratulations to our art teacher Ms Blundon and the students.
Students of the Month
Once again this year we are participating with the Oxford Lodge #18 and their Student of the Month Program. Our sixth grade teachers nominate one student each month as Student of the Month.
The lodge recognizes those students and their parents at a supper where the students receive a certificate and $15 gift certificate to a local bookstore.
The winners for September, October, and November were Kim Weltner, Alex Fox, and Meeka Dall. They were honored at a supper on November 26th at the lodge.
Congratulations to our winners – and many thanks to the Oxford Lodge #18.
GED test to expire
Oxford Hills/Buckfield Adult Education announced that the current version of the GED test (General Educational Development) will expire at the end of 2013. The current version, known as the 2002 Series GED test, will be replaced with the new 2014 GED test on January 2, 2014.
Those who have taken the 2002 Series GED test, but not passed all five parts, have until the end of 2013 to pass or they will need to start over again in 2014 with the new GED test in order to receive their high school credential.
