Oxford Elementary

Aspire Higher

Have you ever wondered what college is like or even adult hood.  Well before college you have to choose what you are going for.  Most sixth graders don't know what they want to be.

But I do, I want to be a Nicu Doctor (Neo Intensive Care Units).  At my school we have something called Aspire Higher.  It is where kids think of what they want to be.

For one week we have a fire fighter, nurses, EMTs, police and even the town manager come to talk to us about their jobs and college.  They know how we feel.  We are only sixth graders and we have plenty of time to choose what we want to be when we are older.  And the school district of Aspire Higher even had a raffle and whoever wins the raffle gets 100 dollars towards college.

When I was in fourth grade I won the raffle.  I will be a good Nicu doctor because I am very good with babies and I know I will learn more as I get older.  I have always wanted to go to college.

But thanks to Aspire Higher I know what I want to go for plus I know I am for sure going to college.

I am going to be a firefighter.  I will got college for two years or three years.  Two years means you spray water to make the fire go out and three years means you get the people out of their home.
