Small business accounting offered
AUBURN — The Corporate and Community Services department at Central Maine Community College will offer ABCs of Accounting for Small Businesses on three consecutive Mondays, October 29 through November 12, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The cost of the class is $119 and includes materials.
This course is designed to give the small business owner a “real-life” understanding of the financial side of business including basic accounting, financial statements, taxes, budgets, forecasts and cash flow.
The course includes advice to accurately track finances and manage cash flow, overcome financial uncertainty, and keep out of financial trouble. This course is a prerequisite for the QuickBooks course that begins in mid-November.
The instructor for this course is Rose Creps. She has previously worked as a financial consultant and an accounting manager. Along with her financial expertise, she has significant experience in training and education. Creps has a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a master’s degree in Global Business Administration.
This non-credit course is open to anyone currently in business or who is considering starting a business. Registration for this course is open and ongoing; however, space is limited.
