CMCC offers on-line home inspection certification
AUBURN — The Corporate and Community Services department at Central Maine Community College has formed a strategic partnership with Carson Dunlop to offer a career home inspection training program.
The comprehensive 10-course certificate program is available entirely on-line. Content is delivered in a highly visual and easy to understand format. Focused on practical applied technical knowledge, this course provides a solid foundation for success in the home inspection field.
Created by two leaders in the field - Carson Dunlop and the American Society of Home Inspectors - this comprehensive education program covers all aspects of the home inspection profession.
The 10 courses were developed in collaboration with education design consultants and distance education specialists.
“We are thrilled to be working in partnership with Central Maine Community College,” commented Alan Carson, president of Carson Dunlop.
"The ability to offer our program through reputable colleges creates new opportunities for individuals looking to pursue a career in the home inspection field.”
“This partnership enhances Central Maine Community College’s ability to offer quality and relevant continuing education options to our students," said Bryan Wallace, training coordinator, Corporate & Community Services.
"These new courses will broaden the variety of topics currently available through the college. Being able to provide these classes affordably and completely on-line is an essential solution for students who aren’t able to commute to the campus regularly.”
The education program leverages Carson Dunlop's 34 years of experience on the education side of home inspection, including classroom teaching, published textbooks, on-line courses, conference presentations, webinars, papers and articles.
It uses a consistent methodology across the 10 textbooks and CD-ROMs. Focus is on practical applied knowledge rather than theoretical discussion. As part of the education program, Carson Dunlop provides students with free access to their cloud-based report writing system, Horizon, to help them develop necessary report writing skills.
