Agnes Gray Elementary School

 FLASH Program

The Agnes Gray School is partnering with Stephens Memorial Hospital’s Physical Therapy Department to help boost learning by increasing children’s physical activity.

This incentive is based on Dr. John Ratey’s book Spark in which studies show that more exercise helps boost learning and test scores.

Three of our Agnes Gray classrooms are now involved with the FLASH Program. Lissa Merrill and two volunteers are here two days a week. On the other days, teachers carry on with the skills which have been practiced. FLASH stands for Fun Learning And Sports Health

Goals:

• Make your heart beat faster 20 minutes

most days of the week.

• Help learn!

• Have fun!

Rules:

• No fighting.

• Non-competitive.

• Kids help set up and break down.

• Kids are quiet going to and from classroom

Boxtops

Thinking about fall and how the leaves and acorns add up, students in Explorers have come up with a new BoxTop sheet!

There are 15 places on this sheet to attach boxtops either with glue or scotch tape (no staples, please). Our school gets 10 cents for each of these boxtops.
