McFalls teachers receive gift cards

MECHANIC FALLS — To help offset the estimated $500 a year that teachers spend out of their own pockets for classroom supplies, Walmart and Sam's Club launched Teacher Rewards.

Through this program Walmart will provide $4.5 million to over 90,000 teachers across the U.S. during the 2012 back to school season. Oxford Walmart associates voted for a local school to "reward" and the winner is Elm Street School in Mechanic Falls.

They received 20 $50 gift cards to help out with school supplies and snacks for students.
