Recertification courses begin in Paris

PARIS — Educators and students at all levels seeking courses toward teacher certification or re-certification can choose from a growing number of courses offered at University College at South Paris for the Fall 2012 semester, which begins in September.

Courses are taught by University of Maine System faculty at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Most of the courses are delivered on-line. Students without high-speed internet access can participate in the courses at University College’s well-equipped computer lab. Staff at the center offer support to all students who are new to on-line learning.

“Each semester we offer a wide variety of education courses on-line and at our center,” said Nikki Abbott, Director of University College at South Paris.

“We are excited to offer courses and programs in our community that will allow people with busy schedules to become certified as Maine teachers.”

University College also makes available certification programs in Special Education and Elementary Education from the UMS campuses.
