OCEA-R awards scholarships

OXFORD COUNTY — The Oxford County Education Association-Retired is honored to announce the following recipients for the OCEA-R scholarships for the Class of 2012. Each year the OCEA-R awards scholarships in the amount of $500 each to four students who plan to enter the field of education.

Sylvia Brooks – Sylvia is the daughter of Rodney and Jessica Brooks of Lovell and attended Fryeburg Academy. She plans to attend the University of Maine in Farmington to major in Elementary Education.

Adam Mahar – Adam is the son of Joseph and Anne Marie Mahar of Rumford and attended Telstar High School. He plans to attend Cornell University and major in History Education.

Kaitlyn Rines – Kaitlyn is the daughter of Douglas and Faith Rines of Hartford. She graduated from Buckfield Junior-Senior High School and plans to attend the University of Maine at Farmington and major in Elementary Education.

Ian Vail – Ian is the son of Kurt and Doreen Vail of Norway. He graduated from Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School and plans to attend the University of Southern Maine and major in Music Education.
