OXFORD — Sixteen Oxford Elementary School students were awarded brand new bikes just in time for summer vacation and bike riding time. As part of TD Bank’s Employee Reading Program, David Stearns, TD Bank Oxford store supervisor, read to all grade levels during May and introduced the students to the bank’s Summer Reading Program. TD Bank deposited $10 into a new or existing account for students who read 10 books and brought their list into the bank.

In addition, the students that participated from Oxford were entered in a drawing to win a new bike bought by the Oxford PTA members. The bikes were assembled by OHTS students and delivered to the Oxford School by members of the District’s custodial staff.

The student winners from Oxford Elementary are Darien Goodrich, Lexi Martin, Angelina Dunham and Riley Scelzo from kindergarten; Jason Boulet-Hunter and Anna Chaloult from first grade; Destiny Eppinger, Trevor Martin and Nathan Cooper from second grade; Breanna Herrman, Walker Plummer and Damian Martin from third grade; Cole Dunham and Kaleb Martin from fourth grade and Dylan Cummings and Hannah Ross from sixth grade.

TD Bank and Oxford Elementary are “Partners in Education” coordinated by the Oxford Hills Community Education Exchange. If your business is interested in partnering with schools please call Maureen Mooney-Howard at the Education Exchange at 743-8914 x 5209.
