Janis Buck

WEST PARIS — Janis Buck, 72, of West Paris died Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at her home. She was born in Hiram on July 28, 1940, the daughter of Jere and Elizabeth Whitman Cox. She grew up in North Norway and attended Swifts Corner School in North Norway and Norway Junior and Senior high School.

She worked in the Norway shoe factories and married Edward Buck. They moved to West Paris where she was a homemaker all her life.

Mrs. Buck is survived by a son, Michael of Saco; a daughter, Theresa of Chesterville; three grandchildren, Krista Buck, Aarika Buck and Alisha Buck; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Joan Morgan and husband Gordon of Greenwood, Jane Kimball of Waterford and Jolene Witham of South Paris; brother, Jerald of West Paris and her longtime companion Elmer Leroy Durgin.She was predeceased by her husband, Edward (Pop) (Bucky) in 2002.

Graveside services will be held in West Paris in the spring, date and time to be announced.
