OXFORD — Ernest Albert Palmer III, 53, lost his battle with cancer Tuesday morning, January 22, 2013 at his home in Oxford. He was born September 8, 1959, in Biddeford, the son of Ernest Jr. and Genevieve Palmer.

He spent his childhood growing up by Norway Lake where he was known by many as "chubs" or "chubby." He learned to be a strong swimmer, played on the rope swing and water skied. Since he was young, he had a passion for animals and was always bringing a new one home.

He attended Oxford Hills schools and went on to be a skilled carpenter but what he knew best was vinyl siding. He loved dirt bikes, playing darts, NASCAR and Patriots football. He was a very dear and loyal friend to many.

Mr. Palmer is survived by his companion of 18 years, Laurel Poliquin of Oxford; sister, Beth-Ann Heath of South Paris; four sons, Scott Durgin of Poland, Kyle Clark of West Paris, Nathan Meserve of Norway and Ernest Clark of Norway; a daughter, Amanda Tapeless of Norway; two nieces, Lauren Libby and Lindsay Rosenberg, both of South Paris; a nephew, Corey Heath of South Paris; 13 grandchildren; one great-niece and four great-nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Ernest Palmer Jr.; his mother, Genevieve Palmer and his best friend of many years, Travis Packard.
