Amy Lee Adams
BUCKFIELD — Amy Lee Adams lost her battle from complications with cervical cancer on January 30, 2013 at the young age of 36. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Everyone was taken in by her bright and beautiful smile. Her spirit and honesty touched so many lives. She connected so genuinely with friends of every generation. Known as "the Babysitter," she nurtured many young lives besides her own three boys. She loved all babies and they loved her too.
As a mom, she took special pride in her boys, Brandon, 16; Kalby, eight and Soren, six. They shared in her adventurous nature and appreciation of the simple pleasures. She gave them the strong foundation of being true to themselves.
Ms. Adams has predeceased her parents, Tim and Wendy Turner of Buckfield and her estranged father, David Adams of Dixfield. She was the oldest of four; her siblings are Jason Adams of Afghanistan and his four children, Genny, Shane, Hunter and Justin, Sean Turner of Portland and his son Gavin and Casey Turner of Portland. Her grandparents, Louise Adams of Dixfield, JoAnne Palmer of West Peru, Ethelyn Turner of South Paris and Wendell and Ellen Palmer of Dixfield, feel an exceptional loss; it's not the natural order of life for the young to die first. She was the anchor in the family, the person who maintained that connection with the family.
There will be a small remembrance memorial at the East Hebron Baptist Church on Sunday, February 10 at 1 p.m. Facilities are limited there, so come prepared. This will be an informal gathering, a time to share memories and stories with each other. This is meant to be for family and her closest friends, so please honor and respect this time by keeping your visit short and sweet. For many, this is a time for closure. As a family they are ready to gradually move on to the next chapter of their lives. She will forever be present in their daily lives. She will be with them at the beach, on a mountain, within the wildflowers and in a pretty stone. Take the time to see the beauty everywhere; loved ones are there.
In lieu of flowers, please direct all donations to Responsible Pet Care of Oxford Hills. Your donation is tax-deductible. Go to their website for an official honor form. Donations are also being taken at Tilton's Market that will be presented to the Buckfield Recreation Department for the reconstruction of the playground on Cross Street. Two trees, previously donated by a close friend, will be planted at the playground.
