OXFORD — Rebecca Anne Carro of Oxford passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at her home, with her loving family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Fairfax, VA on June 10, 1934, the daughter of Clayton and Louise Dindlebeck. She married Robert Carro on June 30, 1951. They lived in Beltsville, MD where she worked at Chrysler Corporation as an administrative assistant until they moved to Oxford in 1971. After they moved to Maine she worked for the Lee Auto Group, where she retired as President of Lee Management in 1995.

In her retirement she and her husband operated Oxford Station Farm. She was well known for her beautiful bouquets of flowers. She found great joy in painting; she loved cats, crossword puzzles and spending time with her great-grandchildren, Kyle, Ashley and Graycee.

Mrs. Carro is survived by her husband of 61 years; her daughter, Donna who stayed by her side until the very end and her husband David of Andover; her two sisters, Virginia Carro of Beltsville, MD and Helen Bartholow of Vienna, VA; her granddaughter, Jessica Richardson, husband Phil and children Kyle, Ashley and Graycee of Oxford; grandson, Captain Clayton Smith and his wife Lindsay of Anchorage, AK; Wally and Melissa Smith and family, David and Becky Smith and family, Keith and Jenni Smith and family and Angie Smith and family, all of Andover.

There will be no public funeral services at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Oxford Hills Christian Academy, 10 East Main Street, South Paris, ME 04281 in memory of Rebecca Carro.
