Leo Kersey, Jr.

RUMFORD — A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Leo F. “Demps” Kersey, Jr. was celebrated on Friday, January 4, 2013 at the Parish of the Holy Savior St Athanasius St John Church in Rumford with Fr. Robert Vaillancourt as the celebrant. Mr. Bernard Poirier was the altar assistant. Mr. Mark Belanger was the organist. Musical selections were "Danny Boy," "The Old Rugged Cross," "How Great Thou Art," "Hosea" and "Amazing Grace."

Readings were proclaimed by his godchild, Linda Jo Andrews and his granddaughter, Lori Fakler. Prayers of the Faithful were proclaimed by his daughter-in-law, Deanna Kersey. Presenting gifts to the altar were his three sons, Leo, III, Michael and Patrick Kersey. Words of remembrance were given by Steve Chaisson and Victor Unessa. Bagpipe music was provided at the church and reception by Piper Robert Underwood of Farmington, which included "Highland Cathedral," "Mist Covered Mountains," "Going Home," "My Home," "Amazing Grace" and "Ballmoral."

A Reception was held at the Mexico Coop in Mexico. Arrangements were under the direction of the Meader & Son Funeral Home, 3 Franklin St., P.O. Box 537, Rumford.
