James F. Veatch

PARIS — James F. Veatch, 83, of South Paris died Friday, December 14, 2012 at the Maine Veterans Home in South Paris. He was born in Detroit, MI on July 5, 1929, the son of James E. and Louise Bagwell Veatch. He graduated from Harrisburg Township High School in Illinois in 1949 and Southern Illinois University in 1950. He proudly served in the National Guard in Illinois and the United States Marine Corps.; he was honorably discharged in 1953.

He had been employed at a tool maker for Rockwell International for many years. He held various certifications from Northrop Corp. Aircraft Division and McDonnell Douglas Astronautics Company. He played football and was on the wrestling team during high school and college. He enjoyed various physical activities, including indoor rowing. He was a dog lover.
