Diane L. Sampson

Norway — Diane L. Sampson, 57, of Norway died Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Stephens Memorial Hospital. She was born in Lewiston on August 25, 1955, the daughter of Asa and Alice Thorne Strout. She attended school in Poland and graduated from Oxford Hills High School. She married Neil Sampson on January 1, 1988. She had been employed as a social worker for Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, and later owned and operated Ocean Breeze Tanning Salon with her husband.

She was a loving, caring person who would do anything for her family and friends. She loved riding her motorcycle through the mountains. She loved the ocean and would stay on the beach for days. Most of all she loved her grand babies and would spoil them in any way she could. She will be forever missed.

Mrs. Sampson is survived by her husband of Norway; a son, Jason Thurlow and his wife Stephanie of Poland; a daughter, Melissa McDaniels and her fiancé Jason Cohen of West Paris; grandchildren, Brianna Thurlow, Zachary Thurlow, Jazmyne Cohen and Willow Cohen; her sister, Sandra Meserve and her husband Bob of Poland; her brother, Asa Strout, Jr. and his wife Jackie of Oxford and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by a daughter, Karen.

A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 1 at 11 a.m. at the First Congregational Church, 17 E. Main St., South Paris. Family and friends may attend visitation on Friday, November 30 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Chandler Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, 45 Main St., South Paris.
