Daniel J. Miclon

SAN FRANCISCO — Daniel J. Miclon of San Francisco, CA passed away peacefully at Pacific Medical Center on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 after a valiant fight with cancer. He was born March 19, 1965, the son of Raymond and Mary (Banks) Miclon of Buckfield. He grew up in Buckfield and graduated from Buckfield High School in 1983. He was an avid basketball player during his high school years.

He moved to San Francisco in 1984 and made it his home. For many years he worked with people with learning disabilities. He worked in the travel industry and in 2001 he graduated from the California Culinary Academy and became a chef. In 2003 he also became certified as a bakery chef.

His passions were travel, animals and spending time with his family. At the time of his passing he was surrounded by his family and loved ones; he waited for his mother to arrive from Maine and passed away under three hours later.

Mr. Miclon is survived by his father and mother, Raymond and Mary Miclon of Buckfield; his long-time companion, Robert Henri of San Francisco; his brother James and his wife Sarah of Bryant Pond; his sister Maureen Dillon of Sumner; his sister Patricia and her husband Jeffery of Beverly, MA and his brother Michael and his wife Kimberly of Buckfield; his five nieces and five nephews; his beloved dog Sophie and his cat Pierro.

A celebration of life ceremony will be held to honor his life on Saturday, November 24 at 10 a.m. at the Buckfield Community Church on Turner Street in Buckfield.
