OXFORD — Susan E. Thorne, 51, of Oxford, died unexpectedly on Monday, October 29, 2012 at Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 5, 1961, in Augusta, the daughter of Carlton John Keith Sr. and Florence Marie Briggs. She attended Augusta schools, where she graduated with her diploma. She married her best friend Richard M. Thorne on June 28, 1985.

She was a woman who had a huge heart; she loved her family more than anything. She took anyone and everyone in if they needed a place to go. She touched the lives of everyone who met her in a tremendous way. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Mrs. Thorne is survived by her best friend and husband, Richard Thorne of Oxford; her son, Michael Thorne and his wife Kerstin Thorne of Oxford; her daughter, Michelle Trask and her husband, David Trask Jr. of Oxford; a brother, Gary Keith and his life partner Anne Trask of Augusta; a special nephew, Roger Keith and his wife Jennifer Keith of Raymond; a special niece, Kayla Keith; special nieces, Nicole Keith and Brandi Keith; special nephew, Isaiah Keith; great niece, Abigail and great nephew, Dominic; her beautiful grandchildren, Dathan Trask, Mystika Trask, Mekia Trask and Tristen Thorne and another special nephew, Zachary Burgess and his mom, Phyllis Burgess, along with many, many others who thought of her as a second mom.

She is predeceased by her brother, Carlton John Keith Jr; her mother, Florence Briggs; brother, Kevin Keith; sister, Cindy Keith and her father Carlton John Keith Sr.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday, November 10 at 1 p.m. at the Hosanna New Testament Church , 109 School House Road, Oxford.
