NORWAY — Diane Elizabeth Johnson entered eternal rest on Thursday, October 18, 2012 while being cared for at Androscoggin Hospice in Auburn. She waged a short but very brave fight with cancer.

She was born on March 23, 1950, in Long Beach, CA. She was the daughter of John and Mary Oliver. She moved to Maine in 1976, and lived in North Lovell, Stoneham and most recently, Norway.

Wherever she lived, there were beautiful gardens and bird feeders, both of which she thoroughly enjoyed. She loved all animals and nature and felt close to God when she was close to them.

She brought so much joy into everyone's lives, both friends and family. She had a quick sense of humor and could always make you laugh with a funny quip or a great memory. No matter what the situation was, she had a heart full of passion and love for all who surrounded her.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Roy S. Johnson of Norway; three sons, John Knox of Portland, Andrew Johnson of Bryant Pond and Joshua Johnson and his wife Jill of Auburn; two daughters, Becky Zeiba and her husband James of Perry, NH and Debbie Smith and her husband Michael of Windham, NH and grandchildren, Melissa Johnson, Clayton Johnson, Drew and Derek Zeiba and Nathan and Daniel Smith.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 28, at the First Congregational Church in South Paris. The Reverend Donald Mayberry will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in her memory to Responsible Pet Care, 132 Waterford Rd., Norway, ME 04268.
