Everlyn Mae Cotton

OXFORD — Everlyn Mae Cotton, 79, of Oxford passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at Bridgton Health Care Center. She was born in Oakland on June 3, 1933, daughter of Esther L. (Roberts) and Linwood M. Wheeler. She married Robert G. Cotton on August 17, 1952.

She served twice as a Worthy Matron in Eastern Star, was a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts, a 4-H leader and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Hiram Historical and Oxford Historical. She knit many mittens for the Oxford Fire Dept.’s Christmas Program.

Mrs. Cotton is survived by her husband of 60 years, Robert; children, Mark Cotton and his wife Jackie Estes, and Marie Hamper; a brother, Donald and his wife Jeanette; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her mother, father and sister, Beverly MacArthur.

Family and friends attended a memorial services on Sunday, October 21 at Oxford Hills and Weston Funeral Services, 1037 Main St., Route 26, Oxford.
