Franklin D. Kimball
SOUTH PARIS — Franklin D. Kimball, 78, passed away Monday, September 17, 2012 at his home under the care of his loving family and granddaughter, Krystin Noyes, CNA. He was born in Sweden, November 29, 1933, the son of Luther and Madeline Kimball. He was educated locally and went into the Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict.
He was a truck driver for Wilner Wood Products for 17 years. He then leased and operated Kimball’s Texaco on Main St. for 19 years. He later operated Kimball’s Quik Stop in Market Square until he retired. After retirement he worked many part time jobs, the last being a volunteer driver for Western Maine Transportation until this past January when he was diagnosed with his illness.
Mr. Kimball leaves his wife and soul mate of 51 years, Charlene; daughter, Karen Dodge and her husband Chip and grandchildren Krystin Noyes and Kobe Dodge; a son, Jeff Kimball and Cara Billings and grandchildren Tyler, Trevor and Travis Kimball; family loved ones Emily and Stephen Billings and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, brothers, sisters and a granddaughter, Ashleigh Noyes.
The family is honoring Mr. Kimball’s request that there be no visiting hours or funeral. Arrangements are under the direction of Chandler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 45 Main Street, South Paris. On-line condolences may be shared with his family at www.chandlerfunerals.com.
