William R. Packard
SOUTH PARIS — William “Bill” Robert Packard, 67, formerly of Harrison, died Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at the Maine Veterans Home in South Paris. He was born in Harrison on January 11, 1945, son of Albert and Verna (Merrill) Packard.
He loved boating, fishing, spending time at his cottage on Little Bear Pond in Hartford and especially loved his dogs. He had an excellent voice and was a guitar player, his favorite music being Country Western.
Mr. Packard is survived by his daughters, Billie Jo Myer of Harrison and Darcy and Bill Winslow of Harrison; son, Ronald Packard of Otisfield; sisters, Peggy Poskus of Hartford and Alberta and Sherwood Estes of Harrison; brother, Arnold Packard and partner Ginny Colby of Harrison; aunt, Marguerite Whitney and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents and grandparents, George and Margaret (Wood) Packard and Lewis and Winnifred (Maxim) Merrill.
Family and friends attended visiting hours on Saturday, September 1 at Oxford Hills and Weston Funeral Services, 1037 Main St, Route 26, Oxford. Graveside services were held on Sunday, September 2 at the Maple Ridge Cemetery in Harrison. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to B Wing at the Maine Veterans Home, 477 High St., So. Paris, ME 04281.
