Royal W. Purdy, Jr.

OTISFIELD — Royal Wadsworth Purdy, Jr., 78, of Otisfield died Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Maine Medical Center in Portland. He was born in Boston, MA on March 9, 1934, the son of Royal W. Purdy, Sr. and Mary J. Hogan Purdy. He attained a Master’s degree from M.I.T. and had been employed as a mechanical engineer for Lincoln Labs. He faithfully served our country in the U. S. Air Force and was a member of the American Legion. He married Maureen Sullivan.

He enjoyed woodworking; he built the cabinets in their home. He could fix most anything. He also enjoyed fishing and was known for helping people.

Mr. Purdy is survived by his wife, of Otisfield; his sons, Brian Purdy, Timothy F. Purdy, Todd H. Eachus and Kevin L. Eachus and numerous grandchildren.
