Charles L. Millett
NORWAY — Charles L. Millett of Norway passed away at his home on July 21, 2012 with his loving family by his side. He was born in Waterford on November 29, 1932, the son of Clyde and Doris (Brown) Millett. He grew up in the Waterford area. On November 10, 1952, he married Ida Marie Currier. He worked in the woods and at Robinson Manufacturing in Oxford.
His most enjoyment was his grandchildren and great-grandson. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He coached baseball and won two championships. He also liked stock car racing and used to race on the ice.
Mr. Millett is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ida Marie; a son, Rodney and his wife Kathy; a daughter, Linda and her husband Earl Micklon; grandchildren, Shawn Hazelton and his wife Trish, Jed Millett and his companion Olivia, Josh Hazelton and his companion Kristie and Jayana and husband Geoff Williams; a great-grandson, Bryce Hazelton; sisters, Helen and her husband George McKay and Dorothy Millett; brothers, Hartley and wife Lucille and William and companion Cindy; brother-in-law, Richard Colby and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Sharon Millett Dale; his parents; two brothers, Clyde Jr. and Stanley and a sister, Irene Colby.
Family and friends attended a visitation on Tuesday, July 24 at Oxford Hills & Weston Funeral Services, 1037 Main St., Route 26, Oxford. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, July 25 at the funeral home. Interment followed at the Norway Center Cemetery in North Norway.
