Ruth B. Kimball
NORWAY — Ruth Marion (Ruthie) Brown Kimball, 88, of Norway died Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Norway Rehabilitation and Living Center, where she had lived for the past five years. She was born in Keene, NH on May 23, 1924, the daughter of Hollis and Lillian Hartford Brown. She enjoyed traveling, camping, boating and music, also being with family and friends. She has now gone to be with the one she missed very much, the love of her life, Edwin C. Kimball, whom she married August 17, 1946; he died February 22, 2006.
In her younger years she faithfully served her country in the U.S. Navy during World War II, worked at the old Norway Shoe Shop and spent many years as a wife, mother and homemaker. She was a member of AARP and VFW.
Mrs. Kimball is survived by one son, Steve Kimball and wife Beverly of Norway; two daughters, Sally Blankenship and husband Dave of Knoxville, TN and Rachel Coburn and husband Jerry of South Paris; one step-grandson, Christopher G. Fitch of Norway and one grandson, Christopher L. Blankenship of Knoxville, TN; one step-great-grandson, Christopher R. Fitch of South Paris; one step-great-granddaughter, Annabelle Fitch of Norway; two sisters, Ellen Gilbert of Waterville and Priscilla Twitchell of Oxford; several nieces and nephews and many good friends. She is also survived by her extended family at Norway Rehabilitation and Living Center in Norway and Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice. She was predeceased by two sons, Stanley Roy and Edwin C. Jr.; father, Hollis and mother, Lillian; two brothers, Ellwood and Hollis; two sisters, Edith (Mayberry) Pineau and Stella Dupont and precious cat “Dollie.”
Funeral services were held Monday, June 25 at Chandler Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, 45 Main St., South Paris. Graveside services were held Wednesday, June 27 at Oakdale Cemetery, Jesse Mills Rd., Otisfield. Family and friends attended visiting hours on Sunday evening at the funeral home.
