SOUTH PARIS — Raymond P. Hayward, 79, of South Paris passed away Thursday, June 14, 2012 at the Maine Veterans Home in South Paris. He was born in Amherst on January 14, 1933, son of Austin H. and Velma (MacDonald) Hayward. He served his country proudly in the United States Army. He worked for many years with the Maine Dept. of Transportation doing various jobs, retiring in 1996. He loved fishing, hunting and spending time with his close friends.

Mr. Hayward is survived by his son, Randy and wife Joline of Amherst; daughters, Pamela Hayward of Ellsworth and Claire Babin of Pennsylvania; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and a sister, Lois of North Carolina. He is predeceased by his son, Michael Hayward.

Graveside services will be held on Sunday, July 15 at 2 p.m. at Mt. Rest Cemetery in Amherst. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Maine Veterans Home, 477 High St., South Paris, ME 04281.
