Louise H. Guilford
NORWAY — Louise H. Guilford, 71, of Norway, died Wednesday afternoon, February 27, 2013 at the Norway Rehabilitation and Living Center. She was born in Claremont, NH on December 26, 1941, daughter of the late Alexander and Margaret (Stevens) Bailey of Turner.
She got her GED from Oxford Hills High School in 1992, which she called one of her greatest accomplishments, aside from her children. As a young women, she was employed by Barjo’s restaurant in Norway, later working at the Bridgton Knitting Mill for years. Then later in life she went into the home health care profession, receiving many certificates, mostly working in Lewiston and Auburn area.
She loved crocheting, and doing word finds. She also enjoyed the love of her family and many friends. She had many pets, but one that took her heart was her Pekingese, Snuggles.
Mrs. Guilford is survived by her son, Scott Perry and companion, Linda Richards of South Paris; daughters, Debra Perry and companion Curtis McAlister of Norway and Diana Lufkin and husband Merle of Peru; sister, Evelyn Damon of Providence, RI; several half brothers and sisters; four grandsons, Billy Noble, Donny Noble and companion Courtney Lockhart of Bartlett, NH, Maxx Noble and companion Joanne Lyndsey of Westbrook and “Bub” Millett and companion Vanessa Gallant of Peru; several “Guilford” step-children; step-grandchildren, Merle Lufkin Jr., Melissa Lufkin, Addison and Grant Lufkin and Deanna Waterhouse and step-great-grandchildren, Colton and Lillianna Noble and Gage Waterhouse. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald Guilford, Sr. and granddaughter, Jill Aileen Millett.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of her life on Saturday, March 9 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Grace Fellowship Church, 29 Poplar St., Oxford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Norway Rehab and Living Center’s Activity Fund, 29 Marion Ave, Norway, ME 04268.
