Collision in Sumner sends two to hospital

HEAD-ON — Robert Fox, 41, of West Paris, was traveling westbound on Route 219 in Sumner around 6 p.m. Tuesday night when he lost control of his 2001 Volvo station wagon, according to reports. The Volvo skidded sideways, crossed the center line and collided head-on with a truck driven by Maureen Searles, 56, of Sumner, reports say. Both drivers were transported to the hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries, according to reports. Both vehicles were demolished. According to reports, the accident remains under investigation.
