OXFORD —   Three vehicles collided in front of the Oxford Casino on Sunday sending a driver of one vehicle to the hospital, said Oxford Police Chief Jon Tibbetts.

According to Tibbetts, Brenda Lavoie, 59, of Minot, was pulling out of the casino when her 2003 Dodge SUV collided with a 2000 Dodge pickup truck operated by Kimber Martin, 65, of New Gloucester and a 2010 BMW operated by Christopher Rega, 47, from Sudbury, MA.

Tibbetts said both Rega and Martin, who also had a passenger, Matthew Martin, 36, were headed south on Route 26 toward Poland when the accident occurred.

The accident happened around 5 p.m. According to Tibbetts, Lavoie failed to see the oncoming vehicles when she was exiting the casino parking lot.

"She just pulled out in front of them," Tibbetts said. "She failed to yield the right of way."

According to Tibbetts, alcohol was not a factor in the accident, based on an unfinished report by Oxford Police Officer Alan Coffin.

Tibbetts said he was not provided with a diagram of the accident, so he could not report on how the vehicles collided.

"I know she [Lavoie] was pulling out, and vehicle two [2000 Dodge pickup] collided with her," Tibbetts explained, "but I am not sure how vehicle three was involved."

Lavoie was transported to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston for minor injuries, Tibbetts said. The occupants of the other vehicles were not injured.

Additional information was not available by press time.
