MECHANICAL —  A Ford pickup truck owned by Trina Cray of 30 Pikes Hill Road in Norway went up in flames around 10 p.m. Monday. Norway Fire Chief Dennis Yates believes the fire was caused by a faulty wire. Yates said Cray parked the vehicle around 5 p.m. that day. Five hours later, he said, Cray heard a popping sound, looked out the window and the truck was on fire in the driveway. Yates said vehicle fires caused by mechanical failure happen on occasion. He said the fire department usually gets called for vehicle fires caused by a broken gas line or faulty wiring.
