BABY ON BOARD —  A 2006 Saturn Ion, driven by a 17-year-old from Sumner, with a 3-month-old infant in the backseat, left Route 117 in Buckfield around 5 p.m. on Monday and crashed into a tree, according to reports. Oxford County Deputy Nathan Bowie reported that the car had apparently hit a patch of ice. According to reports, the driver suffered a concussion and lacerations and the infant was unharmed. According to Bowie, the airbag in the vehicle deployed and the child restraint restraint system saved the occupants from more serious injuries. Bowie also said there were no skid marks on the road, which indicates the driver had little time to react.
