Oxford to update comprehensive plan to get grant

OXFORD —  A committee will be appointed to update the town's comprehensive plan which is due for revision this year.

Having a plan that conforms to state regulations can help the town access Community Development Block Grant funding for a proposed $20 million new sewage treatment plant, Town Manager Michael Chammings told the selectboard during its December 6 meeting.

The board voted unanimously to create a committee to update the plan, as required under state law.

The plan needs to be revised to conform to state regulations – Chammings anticipated the process would only require updating census data and information on some public infrastructure improvements the town has made.
