SLIPPERY — Daniel Smith, 52, of Buckfield, was driving his Ford dump truck on November 8 on Route 117 when the vehicle slipped on ice and overturned into a ditch, according to State Police Trooper Thomas Welch. At the scene, Smith said he was heading southwest toward Paris when the truck lost traction with the road. He said the truck then spun around and landed in a ditch on its passenger side headed the opposite direction. Smith, who was not injured in the accident, said he was able to roll down the driver's side window and safely climb out of the vehicle. According to Welch, the body of the truck was damaged.
